I liked THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING a lot. Very creative plot, interesting glimpses into the workings of the White House, and enough scary speculations about where the world is going to make a person think. I suspect that Patterson did all the writing and Clinton contributed the details related to how Presidents work - at least up to the point where the fictional president in the book goes off on his own. I do think the general observations along the way about partisanship, divisiveness, and incivility are right on in terms of their negative impact on how we as a Nation solve the major problems we face. I think the speculative look into cyber-vulnerability are deeply troubling problems that we can't prevent in the current climate in Washington, and we certainly couldn't do much to solve them once it hits the fan. I enjoy these kind of 'thrillers' just for the entertainment. But I really like it when they make me think. This one served both purposes well for me. Scared the hell out of me at times, frankly.
