Story picks up toward the end of the volume. The art work made the first few issues hard to follow.

A new ongoing series- though one questions the need for it- kicks off with the first team-up of Batman and Superman told in the New 52, mixing their older counterparts from another dimension in just for good measure. The art has a moody feel to it, and the writing is well rendered, as can be expected of Greg Pak. I just don't see the need for this series- it came about at a time when DC was cancelling a number of series but still hellbent on maintaining 52 monthly releases. Also, when you factor in that Batman will always be more interesting than Superman, the Boy Scout just suffers all the more for it.

Another above-average entry into the New 52 canon, both artistically and from a writing viewpoint. I do wish it had been easier to tell the parallel universe characters apart when they appeared in frame together, though.
