The movie got boring after 45-minutes into it. It was kind of dry in the beginning. I liked the cute puppy though.

An average movie. The acting is good, but the story is a bit too forced and formulaic. The romance was beyond me, but I think that was largely because I kept seeing Cusack as older than he actually was. Kids that like adventure stories may enjoy this. Parents concerned with content should be aware that for a PG-movie (especially one from 1985) this movie has quite a few cuss words and disturbing scenes.

Average movie. Underwhelming overacting by respectable actors. Feelgood Disney swill. Don't tackle the depression, Disney. Stick to lighter fare please or risk making a mockery of a very significant and serious historical period. Has it's moments if you ignore it's faults with forced emotional peaks and valleys.

A wholesome little story of a tomboy and her dog (oops -- wolf) riding the rails west during The Great Depression, in search of her dad. Really sweet, like the Disney of yore. With Scatman Crothers and a young John Cusack.
