It's a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble.

A decent drama set in the Walking Dead universe. This story takes place during the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. The characters make the show with Cliff Curtis who plays Travis Manawa being my favorite character. The plot and pacing does stumble a bit in places but overall a good watch.

A very interesting addition to The Walking Dead. I can't stand a few of the characters, which always takes away from the enjoyment, so that might not turn you off if you feel differently. They do a good job of showing what the world went through while Rick Grimes was in a coma. I found that the most interesting part of this (as of my watching this, I have watched TWD through season 5), and this was a well done telling of it. Perhaps my largest criticism is the pace is glacially slow through some episodes. That may be intentional, how boring is suburbia on lock down, after all? But it did not serve the audience's enjoyment through a few episodes of the show. Some really well crafted set ups for people getting turned early because they can't believe what is happening and can't bring themselves to kill someone they do not realize is already dead. Also, so good angst as you are wondering what is about to happen - and it is a simply everyday event, not a zombie issue (SPOILER ALERT: like someone with their back turned not responding to their name being called - if you've seen TWD, you assume they're a zombie, but turns out they are simply listening to headphones - that kind of thing, they played with those types of things pretty well in this season).

I like this one better than the other show, its more real and modern than the other but everybody is different

This series is as boring as the Walking Dead is gripping. Not worth the money to produce it.

It was kinda nice to see how the whole senerio of the world collapsing happened. But I'm not going to say that every episode is great either. For hardcore Walking Dead fans, it may come up short through some of the episodes. Truthfully stating: it has an effect of Season 1 and Season 2 of the Walking Dead appeal.
Actors do a so-so job and I believe this is why it doesn't get a better rating. There are some actors that make it worth watching, but the storyline does have a tendency of lagging..badly.
It still in the early stages of the storyline, so there is always room for it to improve.

Pretty disappointing considering I'm a fan of " Walking Dead ". This series starts out quite well, but soon becomes pretty tame and boring. I think I'll skip any further seasons of " Fear of... ".

Showing what the world was like as the "end of Civilization" started, this spinoff series takes a while to get ramped up. Quite a few unlikeable characters and of course some stupid decisions being made. So far, it's a bit of a step-down from its forebearer; really this is only for people who can't get enough "zombie apocalypse soap-opera" in their life. What can I say, I enjoy "end-of-the-world" fiction.

Not a bad companion show to The Walking Dead, but it suffers from the same faults as that lauded show: not very likeable characters. Hopefully next season will focus on the family getting over whatever squabbles they have, and learning to work together in order to survive.

Horrible. None of the characters are likable. Maybe the writers should let the zombies eat the characters and restart.

It was ok. A typical 6 episode 1st season by AMC. I really only cared about Kim Dickens' character and the later Victor Strand. But like TWD, you have to wait to see the characters grow. I would say it is still worth a watch to TWD fans.
