Another very good book in the Immortal After Dark series. At a very young age, Josephine took care of her baby brother, Thaddeus until she was killed and he was adopted. When she awoke in the morgue, she was confused and couldn't understand why she came back and what was happening to her. When Rune the Baneblood caught her scent, he was drawn to her. He decided to kidnap her until he could figure things out. They were attracted to each other and couldn't get enough of each other. She wanted a relationship with him, but he was used to using sex to get what he wanted or to use his poisoned blood to kill any other immortals that he hunted and couldn't say he would be faithful to her. When she learns that her brother is also an immortal, she wants to find him and be a family with him. They find they have a lot of enemies and Rune will do anything to protect her. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, loved the characters and how they tie into ones we already love. Josie and Rune captured my heart.
I enjoyed seeing where some of the threads tied into past books and characters and gave me a new prospective on a few from the last book. Nix the everseeing and Thaddus were both present and wonderful as always. A niggling question I also had in the back of my mind throughout the series but so slight I wasn't sure it would ever be answered was answered in this book. Made my day. A wonderful read.

Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark series is great, this is one of my favourites, highly recommended. You do not have to read the other books in this series first but it is recommended as things will make more sense and you will also realize how special this book is.
