In 1775 Captain Juan Bautista de Anza began an epic expedition that would change history. Anza was joined by over 240 settlers, soldiers, and several thousand head of livestock gathered from locations as far south as Culiacan, Mexico. Together they made the difficult 1200 mile journey from Tubac, Arizona to San Francisco, California. The journey was filled with challenges and obstacles, yet perseverance and loyalty ensured the success of the expedition.
