"Congressional assistant Lara Mayhew suddenly quits her job. Her friend, novice FBI agent Meg Murray, gets a message from her saying she's disillusioned and 'going home' to Richmond, Virginia. But she never arrives. And bodies fitting Laura's description are showing up in nearby rivers. Meg is assigned to work with Matt Bosworth from the FBI's unit of paranormal investigators--the Krewe of Hunters. As Meg and Matt trace the route frequented by Lara through Civil War battlefields and graveyards and pursue the possibility of a serial killer, they find themselves in the middle of a political conspiracy. Is there a connection?"--Back cover.

A consistent author - I know I will always enjoy anything written by Heather Graham. Tight story-line. Believable characters. Thoroughly evil villain. Good prose: "The moon was just beginning to wane; it hadn't been a foggy night, but mist seemed to spread across the field beyond the picket fence."
