It was all right but a little to far fetched at times!

i was desperate for an action movie i hadn't seen so resorted to this, and it was worse than i thought it was going to be. had to watch parts on mute or fast forward because i couldn't handle it.

only gave the 1st movie 3 stars because Tris as the main character just seemed too weak for me. i like a heroine who i can really root for! she didn't seem to gain any strength of character in the 2nd film unfortunately. disappointing.

Entertaining movie. Not as good as the book, but they rarely are (and, in this case, living up to the book would be a high standard indeed).

Has all the ingredients and in a nice package, but lacks sufficient dramatic punch.

No film can or should exactly follow its parent book. If it did, where would be the fun in watching it?

SPOILER ALERT.

Mercilessly intense, for those of us who scream out loud in theatres. Not a mirror reproduction of the book, but there was some very successful world-building going on.

I know what's going to happen, and I don't know if I can stand to watch the next one.

Like I said, it’s time people stop having high expectations for Hollywood adaptations.
This is another Hollywood adaptation that caused some folk to steam because it was like, a DISGRACE to the book!!!! But I was already prepared, because I know the Hollywood way is usually second-rate.
But what else do you expect? There is plenty that is contrary in The Hollywood way. The Hollywood way can’t handle couples who are purposefully abstinent (as Tris and four were in the book, but you know , Hollywood writers get the jitters)
The Hollywood way can barely contain their need for profanity in an action packed film...(okay save one unneeded colorful word, the dialogue was mostly appropriate)
But the film was not that bad, the acting saved it, honestly. Woodley in her reprisal as Tris was not 100%convincing in her portrayal as the guilt-demon-ridden Tris , but very good none the less…her performance was hardly her fault but the fault of average writers…BUT Theo James was born to play four (THEO JAMES FOR JAMES BOND!!) …and a round of applause for Winslet for being the callous, calculating Jeanine.
This Hollywood way benefits greatly from the already devoted fans of the books by the brilliant and compromising author, Veronica Roth. The characters and the very good pace of this film make “Hollywood’s insurgent” worthwhile to watch...sort of.

I really just didn't like the movie, they completely change the story! I am disappointed with the quality of this film.

Although also enjoyable, I felt that this film was even further from the book it was based upon than Divergent was with it's counterpart. For example, I felt that Johanna (the Amity leader) didn't have as large of a role in the film as she did in the movie. I feel the same about Marcus (Four's father). I also feel that Tris' guilt about Will's death wasn't as big of a deal to her. It haunts her, but in the book she was afraid to touch guns after the event, but she's fine in the movie. Nonetheless, it was a good film, but varied heavily from the book, which bothered me.
