In this informative and practical guide, two seasoned vegans offer tips and advice for thriving without animal by-products. Sometimes funny and irreverent yet always aware of its serious message, this resource for being vegan in a world that doesn't always understand or have sympathy for the lifestyle illustrates how to go vegan in three weeks or less by employing a "cold tofu method; " convince family, friends, and others that there is no such thing as a vegan cult; and survive restaurants, grocery stores, and meals with omnivores. Also offering answers to questions such as "Do you, like, live on apples and twigs?" This reference dispels myths and explains the arguments for ethical, abolitionist veganism, encouraging everyone to embrace their inner vegan.

I was very disappointed by this book. I'm sure there's some good information in it, but I had to stop reading due to racist rhetoric found toward the beginning. I am vegan and I love animals, but we shouldn't throw POC under the bus in favour of animals. We should be compassionate to all.

After 20 years living as a vegetarian, this book really helped cement my transition to veganism. It was humourous and practical without being preachy. I highly recommend this for anyone who is passionate about animal ethics and those looking to adopt a more plant-based, healthful lifestyle.

Definitely a book geared more towards a university and young adult audience. While I have a few problems with the book here and there (the language not being one of them), it is overall a great resource for those who are looking into Veganism, or already are Vegan. It gives great advice on how to deal with people criticizing your decisions.

There is some bad language in this book, but there is some great info too. The title should be 'Vegan Normal" because they aren't trying to convince you to be a freak, but to be yourself and follow your heart and soul.
