This was like having a personal experience of what our military has to experience. It made me appreciate them even more. It literally had me in tears.

This is a tense and gritty movie about an American Sherman tank crew in the waning days of WW2. There have not been very many movies about tank combat since Humphrey Bogart's pretty good Sahara in 1943 but Fury maybe the top of the list. Brad Pitt is a harden no nonsense veteran who leads his tough talking crew with a fresh faced rookie from the clerical pool trying to fit into their tough company. The movie is candid in that combat is merciless and unforgiving to soldiers and innocent civilians also no quarter is given to certain SS enemy combatants. The vast superiority of German tanks over Allied is clearly illustrated here and it would take losing 3 Shermans to defeat one Tiger tank. The only slightly unrealistic moment happens in the ending firefight where the elite German SS units can't hit the side of a barn.

How war can brutalize even the most mild-mannered of innocents.
Nobility and savagery in one package. Hard hitting.

An intense film that explores the concept of duty in the face of the horrors of war.

Good war movie. Excellent acting. Similar to Saving Private Ryan.

It's a bit of an overstatement to call it "worst WII combat movie made" and then to talk about how unrealistic it is. It is a film, after all, not a documentary. While it doesn't add much to the large body of WWII films and it certainly embraces cliches, at its best it's a gritty, visceral, and intense film with some brutal and nerve shattering combat sequences. Brad Pitt, as the commander of a tank crew fighting in Germany, essentially plays a non-comic version of his Nazi killer from "Inglorious Basterds." The tank crew is comprised of classic types: the gruff, battle weary commander, the fresh-faced recruit, the token ethnic character, the religious guy, and the crass Southerner. Shia LaBeouf is the one distracting face in the crew, especially his silly mustache. While clearly indebted to "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers," the tank combat gives it some originality. The ending, where the crew takes on a small army of SS is both thrilling and ridiculous. Director/writer David Ayer also did "End of Watch" and "Suicide Squad."

Norman Ellison: I've never even seen the inside of a tank. I'm a clerk typist. Was heading to Fifth Corps HQ, and they pulled me off the truck. They sent me here. It's gotta be a mistake.
Grady 'Coon-Ass' Travis: Mistake? Army don't make mistakes. It wouldn't do.
...
Norman: I'm sorry. Okay, l am trained to type 60 words a minute. I am not trained to machine-gun dead bodies. I am trying my very best.

From IMDb:

Boyd 'Bible' Swan: Here's a Bible verse I think about sometimes. Manytimes. It goes: And I heard the voice of Lord saying: Whom shall I send and who will go for Us? And... I said: Here am I , send me!
Norman Ellison: [Mumbling] Send me.
Wardaddy: Book of Isaiah, Chapter six.

Wardaddy: Hey, you want to talk Mexican? Join another tank, a Mexican tank. This is an American tank, we talk American.

Irma: Where are you going?
Wardaddy: To take the next town. And the next one. Until you people quit.

Violence: Some pretty gory and brutal battle scenes, with scattered human body parts, and plenty of killings.
