It's simple, it's campy, it's cute, it's....not got a lot of substance to it whatsoever, but hey, it's light hearted (mostly) and that's okay. Not everything needs weight. The art is easily the best part of it: so pretty. Bandette is basically the same character as Squirrel Girl, so if you're into spunky, silly, and adorable, this one's for you. Intended for teens and adults.

Bandette is cheeky and feisty and improbable and a lot of fun. I love how she and her rivals enthusiastically occupy the gray areas between good and bad, and also between friend and ally. And who can argue with a girl who loves candy bars?

Bandette is a feisty and clever character, and the retro feel to this book's art is fantastic. If you'd like an adventure, a caper, a plot, or a heist, with lots of heart and plenty of humor this would be a great choice!

I got this for my almost 7 y/0. And was shocked to see a comic-scene not appropriate for kids. I wouldn't recommend this book for younger than teenagers.

I know some people who would really love this, a celebration of carefree fun in the form of a teenage master thief. Unfortunately, it isn't quite my style, so I can appreciate it but wasn't crazy about it. But for those who enjoy a heroine who never worries, a tone lacking in irony, a romantic sense of adventure, and earnestly playful dialogue, this is sure to be a hit.
