Young Tore belongs to the Jesus Freaks, a Christian punk movement rebelling against established religion whilst at the same time following Jesus' precepts of love. One day, in what appears to be a miracle, Tore manages to repair a car which has broken down and gets to know the driver, Benno. Before long, Tore moves into a tent in Benno's garden and gradually becomes part of his family. But Benno can't resist playing a cruel game, designed to test Tore's faith.

I didn't know this was based on a true story, until the credits rolled, and this terrified me. This movie show's the story of a young man, with a deep belief in Jesus' message and lifestyle, who in the end, doesn't break his religion's sacred rules, even under dramatic trials to break him. Recommended for those who enjoy a drama-film, those who follow Jesus, and for those who enjoy stories that show how harsh, being a human can be. Please, use discretion for other viewer's, whom should be of a mature age. Enjoy the movie.

This movie is very depressing. I cannot believe that people would do this to someone.

interesting take on cult individuals with no direction and how they can be manipulated either in or out of the cult.

This is a 2013 German film directed by Katrin Gebbe.
Based on true events, the film tells about a young man who belongs to the Jesus Freaks.
It is one of the most bizarre and shocking movies I've seen in the recent years.
It seems so far away from life, and goes all the way to the extreme.
After all it doesn't make me feel good at all.
In a nutshell, this is a bullshit-kinda movie.

''Where's your Jesus now?...'' Absolutely unrelenting! Though listed here as a thriller, this one falls into the Horror category well, I think. Only about halfway through did it dawn on me that this film was based upon true events; due to the sad fact that writers rarely can conceive of the sick places that the human mind can venture to, or the levels of brutality that humans are capable of &/or what some will actually tolerate/endure (see also - ''Compliance'', another true-events based thriller that illustrates the latter). For reality-based Horror, this compares to the freaky Russian flic ''Cargo 200''; but with far more to offer in regards to story, acting and artistic expression. The tension mounts like a smoothly-oiled machine as we witness a gentle, innocent and extremely gullible young man ; but one who proves his steadfast devotion (to his own detriment) to faith hope love and the ''value'' of suffering; as he ''turns the other cheek'' on manifest evil. Though one can't help feeling sad for the hapless victim, the female director has crafted something more than your average horror-thriller here, one that should offer plenty more on repeat-viewings. The talented, yet unknown actors have been expertly cast here, giving the flic an appeal to those outside the horror-film's regular audience. This one truly stands out - well worth the time!

Great acting in this film. I can never understand why somebody would willingly take so much abuse...you do not have to reciprocate with violence.
Definitely not for the fainthearted.
