The magnificent scenery of Monument Valley, Utah provides the proper ambiance for this film. Victor Mature gives a surprising performance as Doc Holliday. I would rate "My Darling Clementine" at 5.0 stars.

While historically inaccurate, this classic retelling of Wyatt Earp and the shootout at the OK Corrall is very well-acted and has many positive messages. Five stars.

The story of the Earp and Clanton families and the events leading up to and including the Shoot Out at the O.K. corrall. As history it's less than accurate. As entertainment it's brilliant. A well written story, a great cast, and brilliant direction by John Ford add up to a movie masterpiece!

This is a 1946 western directed by John Ford.
Regarded as one of the best Western movies, it is certainly engaging and entertaining.

A movie masterpiece that will definitely stand the test of time. Director John Ford gives us the story of Wyatt Earp who becomes the sheriff of Tombstone, Arizona. Now Tombstone may not seem like much, but is located in a beautiful part of the South West. Henry Fonda is Wyatt Earp and he gives life to the tough lawman. Victor Mature plays Doc Holiday in what I consider is best performance on film. Walter Brennan plays the head of the Clanton family gang. He is rough as they come, carrying a whip around with him when his sons get out of line. As you can see by those who have commented on the KCLS web site, this is a well loved movie. It would be a shame to miss one of the finest American Films Ever Made!

My Darling Clementine was based upon a fictional account of the shootout between the Clanton Gang and the Earp family. This film emphasized a fictional romantic situation between Doc Holliday, two women (named Chihuahua and Clementine) and Wyatt Earp. The film is one of director John Ford’s masterpieces and is ranked by magazine Sight and Sound as the 132nd (directors poll) and 235th (critics poll) best films of all time. Ford made some of his films in Monument Valley, Utah but I am not sure if the actors from this film were really there during the shoot of this film. Forget the history and just concentrate on the greatness of Ford’s direction.

Frontier Marshall 3.5 stars - Probably the first Hollywood film of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday at the OK Corral. Randolf Scott and Cesar Romero play the two leads. Look for Ward Bond and Lon Chaney, Jr. in small parts. And look for John Carradine who would spawn three sons for Hollywood.

My Darling Clementine - 5 starts - I'll comment if I get a chance to watch this all time Western Classic.
