Mastodon recognize the importance of life's omnipresent cycles on their sixth album. They orbit around themes of loss and rebirth, twirling a sonic spiral of robust riffing, hypnotically haunting soundscapes, and seismic grooves.

I put this in the top three of Mastodon's albums, alongside 'Leviathan' and 'Crack the Skye'.

aaa5756 is right, I would also recommend this CD for all! Well, it helps if you like metal/heavy rock. The sixth album from Southern metal titans Mastodon is a more straightforward rock album for them, a little like when Metallica made the "Black Album." It's less proggy and doesn't have a unifying theme like "Leviathan" or "Crack the Skye." Like "The Hunter," it's just a solid, heavy rock album with an awesome cover. You might also like Baroness, Pallbearer, Kylesa, and High on Fire.
