"FIRST IN A NEW TRILOGY From Charlaine Harris, the bestselling author who created Sookie Stackhouse and her world of Bon Temps, Louisiana, comes a darker locale-populated by more strangers than friends. But then, that's how the locals prefer it. Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It's a pretty standard dried-up western town. There's a pawnshop (someone lives in the basement and is seen only at night). There's a diner (people who are just passing through tend not to linger). And there's new resident Manfred Bernardo, who thinks he's found the perfect place to work in private (and who has secrets of his own). Stop at the one traffic light in town, and everything looks normal. Stay awhile, and learn the truth... "-- Provided by publisher.

I decided to read this because I loved the Sookie books and there is a television show. The book was pretty good. The characters are very interesting. The story progressed well and I could not figure out who the killer was. I will be reading the next book.

I like the new tv show for this series so I was very eager to read the book. The writing style was a bit simple but I soon got wrapped up in the characters and forgot about it. It was a quick , easy read and I enjoyed the twists. I'm looking forward the next book in the series. This first book focuses on the mystery of the missing girl and the tv show went in a way different direction than the book.

Just finished and I loved it, hope the series will be just as good as her others. And someone thinks so in LaLa Land because its coming on tv ABC starting in June as a series. Hope they were able to live up to the books, and didn't change too much.

I enjoyed this lighthearted yet dark, supernatural mystery set in the world that Charlaine Harris created in her previous book series.

Just saw that this series will be on NBC in 2017 and is called Midnight, Texas. All the action takes place in a small town inhabited by vampires, angels, werewolves, and psychics. You can get a jump on the show by reading this one as well as Day Shift and Night Shift.

The first book in the Charlaine Harris "Midnight, TX" series. This was a reread for me, I enjoyed all the hints about characters that are developed more fully in the next two books. A good light-summer-reading book.

This was an easy read, but felt a little forced. Good enough to finish, but I won't be picking up the next in the series.
