Tandy Angel may have played the hero when she solved the case of her magnificently wealthy parents' mysterious deaths, but she isn't done yet. Her brother Matthew stands trial for homicide, young girls are found murdered all around New York's Upper West side, and Tandy is determined to use her piercing intellect to get to the bottom of both cases. But the biggest mystery of all may be what actually happened to James Rampling, the handsome son of a family enemy, whom Tandy fell in love and ran away with--though most of her memories of the affair are disturbingly absent. The confessions keep coming as Tandy delves even deeper into her own tumultuous history and the skeletons in the Angel family closet.

Confessions - Book 2

Tandy Angel has more than enough on her plate without not one, but two murder mysteries. But that doesn’t stop her from doing whatever she can to solve them. When her life has been turned upside down, she figures it’s better to do something than nothing. The Private School Murders is the second book in the Confessions series, and Tandy’s log of all of the crazy things going on in her life, from long-lost love, to all-new emotions.

While I found the ending of this book too perfect and miraculous, the events leading up to it kept me hooked page after page. Just when you think something can go right, it goes wrong, right up until the end where everything turns around, and Tandy gets what she lost and more.

When I started reading the book, I was irritated by the characters’ superiority. People don’t have to be rich to be smart, or geniuses to be cool, worthwhile, or get anything done. I actually felt bad about myself reading this, as if I was wasting my life. While I was bugged by the almost Mary-Sue superiority of the characters, they grew on me, and by the end, I was rooting for them. I just wanted things to turn out more realistically. The ending reminded me of a fairy tale, like Cinderella, or Snow White.

Either way, if the sequel the book sets up for comes out, I will read it, and anyone who likes a multilevel mystery with layers of intrigue will find some interest in this book. Just remember that it is fiction, and does not need to be one hundred percent realistic.

Enjoyed this audiobook and would recommend it. It had a few good twists.

Enjoyed the continuation of the first in the series, but found it a bit disjointed in places. There wasn't a lot of character development or growth, but the overall story was still interesting, if somewhat full of "but what about...'s"

I would say this is equal to the first book in the series. I like the characters more and the simple twists and turns.

I hope Confessions featuring Tandy Angel and family will be an on going series, if so, I will be sure to keep reading.
