Obama is selling the Government to Wall Street (his corporate campaign contributors and political financiers), this is a continuation of a trend and not some new Socialist take-over. Obama leading a proletariat revolution is painfully laughable. Follow the money, and you will find private industries (banks, oil, insurance, pharma, military contractors, telecom, agriculture, etc.). Conservatives (both free market and Republicans) use the term [Socialism] to represent Stalinist totalitarianism, forgetting the existence of Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy, where there is a strong middle class with world-class access to healthcare and social programs (look at the progressive countries and their quality of life). In a strongly-Capitalist society centered around egoism and profit, the combination of unregulated predatory behavior (killing competition is great for your bottom line!) and inherited wealth leads to corporate monopolies, which creates an oligarchy. No accountability, liberty for the very-few. Some Conservatives relish this, since they are already in control. They can then create think tanks to propagate the myth of the free market (e.g. Koch Industries creating Americans for Prosperity to propagate Tea Party propaganda). Obama is no more than a puppet: follow his political financing, follow the money to find the masters. The working class is regulated by the big banks through the Government, the banksters are in power (look at their salaries and bonuses during the Financial Crisis! Evidently not a crisis to some). Yes, real Progressives are against the Obama administration acting in the interest of big corporations, but then we turn around and see Conservatives clamoring to give further power to corporations while throwing away democracy! Try reading Matt Taibbi's book [Griftopia].

I didn't like this book, it feels like the author is really just voicing his opinions and critque about his own dissatisfaction with Britain's government and not really discussing why Obama's administration is not benefiting the American public.

this is a good book, warning americans to avoid the mistakes britain has made in going for socialism. it is another timely warning like f.a. hayek's "Road to Serfdom." The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that the author strays too often into personal matters less interesting than his topic.

Good book. Accurately predicted what Obama would do to this country before it happened.
