With some careful editing, this could have been merely a bad movie. Instead, at 155 minutes, it is one of the worst movies ever made.

For me this was one of those movies when you say to yourself "This was the worst movie I think I've ever seen" knowing another will come along that's worse; it'll take some doing though. Brutally bad acting from Kidman & Owen, who I generally like but who is totally miscast here, and the script has every Hemingway cliché you can imagine.

Interesting movie. Insight into Hemingway and one of his loves - Martha Gellhorn. Well acted by C Owen and N Kidman. Great use and incorporation of real clips, the transitions into and out of are ground breaking.

The acting was good. So was the cinematography. However, the story was not engaging and was riddled with historic inaccuracies leaving one with the impression that the Americans saved the world from the Nazis, as it demonized Joseph Stalin, the Red Army and Russia which lost more than 26 million lives to defeat Hitler.

Did not like the movie. Nicole was good in it though.

Alcoholics that happened to write well ... pathetic story about a couple of losers...sad ending for womanizing alcoholic that blows his head off with a shotgun at age 61 because the booze just stopped working after years of abuse.

Well directed & acted. Solid retelling of their story. Some amazing scenes recreated from real life experiences and some let downs regarding Papa (if true).

Not great, but more interesting in places than it might have been.

I thought it was a load of rubbish and have to say "don't bother".
