A self centered, quick to violence, petty criminal turned accidental murderer - who is also an abusive, neglectful only parent to a young boy....

And yet there is the odd, precious moment when the father appears to truly, deeply love and care for his son.

This film shows succinctly, with both startling contrast and touching nuance, exactly why abused children (and spouses) continue to love their abusers - and that the effects of such constant love/hate turmoil and emotional confusion are both profound and indelible for the abused.
