This series grows on you, maybe like Spanish moss (actual a lichen), in the Everglades swamp. Interesting characters, unique policing, and the south Florida location acts as a bit of a character itself. The leads are strong and the love interest between Callie and Jim only adds to the bouncy plotlines. Recommended if you like a good police story, without the "button-up" collar nature of most police procedurals.

During the second season of The Glades Jim Longworth finds himself in a love triangle with Callie, a nurse/medical student, and Sam, Jim's former partner and homicide detective from Chicago. Sam arrives in Palm Glades searching for the Chicago north side serial killer who may have relocated to Florida. Meanwhile Jim and his co-workers investigate a multitude of gruesome homicides. To further complicate Jim's life Callie is hired by the FDLE as a part-time nurse liason for homicide investigations.
