It is "slow", but well done. Worth watching when you're in the mood for same.

This movie is about the parents of a teenager being responsible for a school massacre and how they cope, and deal with something that can't be undone.. and trying to move on. Good film and good acting.

Or, is it believable that decent, loving parents beget mass-murdering children, or even murdering children? Possibly, but I've never met any; in those cases where I came into contact with the murderer and his parents prior to the horrific event, one could almost have predicted the outcome.

I thought this movie was kind of slow; laborious, and depressing. Could have used more dialog.

An unusual and believable Love Story. It felt very real to me. I kept hoping that the two parents would stand up to the injustice but I understand that that would have put a different flavor to the movie. This is a movie also about the search for truth and to make sense of a world that in one moment can permanently impact you.

A wonderful film showing the other side of a tragic shooting, the parents of the shooter and how they must deal with it being also the innocent victims!!!Tastefully done

Very difficult topic. This is the story of parents who lost a child in a "Columbine" school shooting; but their son was the shooter. I had to turn the movie off as I couldn't deal with the topic. As far as I watched, it was very well done, superb acting and conveyance of emotions. What a traumatic time for everyone, but especially the parents of the shooter.

A VERY tough subject, but EXCELLANTLY acted! They travel an emotional spectrum; grief, shock, shame, guilt and self loathing. They survive this emotional rollercoaster, and emerge stronger. Well worth seeing, BUT ONLY if you know a brief outline of the movie first. This movie is slow moving, using emotions to replace explosions and car crashes.

This movie is heartbreaking to watch. I was suppressing the urge to cry for most of the film. Maria Bello and Michael Sheen conveyed grief, shock, horror, numbness, weariness, and all the other emotions that these two characters underwent so effectively and with such delicacy. It's clearly not a joy (in the happy happy joy joy sense) to watch, but it's a quality film starring two seriously great actors.

This film is not so much about the act of violence or the reasons that led to it, but rather about grief. The movie does an excellent job at depicting the couple’s isolation as well as their individual desire to make sense of it all.
