this book is touching. Beth got a little clingy at some parts but it was okay in the end. Scott was an okay character, he acted like an idiot some times and I didn't like him so much at those parts. It almost made me cry, so close. Not a lot of books do that. The ending was the best part. I don't know if there was a lesson in this book but I think you have to WANT to live for you to really live and not just go through the motions. If you lose your will to live, you lose everything. It means there isn't a point to living and you just gave up. Don't. We are all mortal and thus we will all die sometime but shouldn't we try to live as long as we can? Life is a Gift, Embrace it.

This book is amazing! If you are looking for one that will touch your heart and fill you with emotion then this is a perfect book for you. At the end I cried so much! Beth and Derek have something special and I would recommend this to anyone! Just amazing!!!!

I started off liking Scott and thought he was the cutest and sweetest thing ever, but then towards the end he got really annoying. I mean, yes, he was hurt, but he didn't have to be so inconsiderate to Beth. He kept saying how she didn't love him, but she did. In the end, she did actually love Derek.

Their relationship was....nyeh. Beth also got annoying because she seemed so desperate...

so all in all, the book was okay. I mostly liked the end, the part where she sings to Derek to sleep..It was the sweetest thing of the whole book.

I absolutely loved this book. It's my all time favorite. It may be a little predictable but that doesn't matter at all because the writing is beautiful and it made me cry everytime i read it. It is completely unforgettable and the writing makes it feel as though it happened to me. I suggest anyone who has read it listen to the song on itunes, it made me cry all over again. flawless and touching, a must read

this is one of the saddest books i have ever read. what beth had to learn was that beauty comes from within and she had to stop torturing herself about looks. she was lucky that scott was there to support her the whole time. i would read this book again and recommend it to others. simply touching.

I agree with ONEataTIME. I enjoyed this book, but it was kind of predictable and kind of sad as well. I would reread it again though. It was well written, but a little fast at the end.

it was good but predictable! It was also sad but you knew it was coming. I didn't like how fast it ended either. But it was still good!

This was a good book. It wasn't an amazing book but in the end I would still recommend it.
I had guessed the ending soon after she meets Derek so the whole book was predictable (at least for me).
Some of the things I didn't like was that Beth didn't have a strong personality. She had no confidence in herself, even after the transformation/makeover.
I also did not like the ending and I wish that what evidently happened didn't happen so soon. She threw herself into the relationship (with Scott) basically because she couldn't stand being alone. I also disliked how Scott kept giving her another chance and saying that he is alright being second because ultimately no one really is. This book left me torn but I would still recommend it to my friends and see what they thought of it.
