Another hagiography of Churchill. I, for one, am getting bored with this.

This is a 2009 biographical film directed by Thaddeus O'Sullivan, based on his days in office during World War II.
It is a sequel to the 2002 television film "The Gathering Storm," which details the life of Churchill in the years just prior the war.
The Second World War has recently ended in Europe, and Churchill is awaiting the results of the 1945 general election.
During this time, Winston Churchill goes to France for a holiday with his wife Clemmie.
Through a series of flashbacks, he recalls some of his most glorious moments during the war, and the effect it had on their deteriorating marriage.
It is an engaging story with not-well-known facts and funny episodes about him.

What a cast of extraordinary performers. Winnie is a fascinating historical figure. I was more impressed with Citizens of London audio for 'other' information on the man. Gleeson is believable as WC. More about the man than the war.

A fantastic movie about a legend. Gleeson does an impressive imitation of Churchill.

Even being an avid WW2 junkie I was rather bored by this film. They try to cram too much information and historical moments into a small film with the resulting sense of the movie going from small scene to small scene. Rather disappointing overall.

Very well done. The life and times of Churchill around the war efforts. Interesting and sometimes surprising.

I can't add much more to what patron "Septum" wrote, except that we loved this movie. Together with Patton, Churchill is one of my heroes. A must watch movie, especially for the younger, who learn so many lies about this great man.

Very well done movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding on this one. A++ DVD
