The series is good but the books get longer as they go on. I lost interest on Kingdom of the Wicked. If you want to check out the full series list you can go to my list called Skulduggery Pleasant or go to the link kcls.bibliocommons.com/lists/share/301751197_black_hawk_459/385149107.

For children who enjoyed the "Harry Potter" series, this series is an absolute must. A clean, but fiercely enjoyable mixing pot of genres that will leave you (and your child) full of anticipation for further adventures. I highly recommend these books for bedtime reading with young boys who like mysteries!

MUST. READ. NOW.
Crazy awesome!!! Definitely my favourite book series of all time! I've read all the books and loved them. I want more!! Love all the jokes and how they comeback in the hilarious conversations that happen. The characters are the best, especially Skulduggery, Valkyrie, Tanith, Ghastly(I could go on and on about this....) and once again, awesome.

An amazing series. (I have read all the books and extras and wish there were more.) I especially love Skulduggery and Valkyrie's sarcastic and ridiculous conversations, Ghastly Bespoke, and Tanith's general awesomeness, even ***SPOILER ALERT*** as a bad guy posessed by Remnants.

Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy is one of those amazing and fresh stories that come along just every once in awhile to make us believe that creativity is still alive and well in the world. Kids who like the Artemis Fowl books will really enjoy Skulduggery Pleasant and the best news is that there is already an excellent sequel! Life is good.
When twelve year old Stephanie's eccentric uncle dies and leaves her his estate she doesn't just end up with money and a mansion. She also inherits her uncle's enemies. And they aren't just your regular, every day kind of enemies either. Stephanie's uncle wrote magical, horror stories that everyone thought were made up... turns out they were all true. Now Stephanie is the proud and freaked out owner of a very dangerous, magical (and unfortunately hidden) weapon. The only thing standing between her and the evil sorcerer who really, really wants it is her uncle's best friend and kind of super spy Skulduggery Pleasant, a "living" skeleton with an excellent sense of humor, and some of his questionable "friends" who might be helping them but it's kind of hard to tell sometimes. With Skulduggery Pleasant in the lead Stephanie's life quickly spirals out of control but what a ride it is.
New and interesting bad guys abound and the good guys are just as interesting. The action is non-stop and so are the laughs. This is definitely a 4 - 6 grade title because the action, like the Artemis Fowl books, can be intense so the reading level is upper elementary and beyond. This is a not-to-be-missed fantasy thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Lots of frightening scenes where the main characters are trapped with enemies throughout the series.

Violence: I agree with KingSalomon, this whole series is violent, might scare readers under 10 years old.

Violence: There is fist fights and gun fights people get hit alot a troll gets beheaded. The worst it gets is a man falls into water and it acts like acid and pieces of him are ripped apart..
