A steam-punk, futuristic version of the original Treasure Island. Well done and very entertaining.

Fun times. Great visuals bring to life an interesting unique sci-fi/steampunk setting. It might not be "good" in an analytical sense but it's solidly entertaining and enjoyable. The main character is a little annoying but relatable, the pirates are cool, and the soundtrack does a good job bolstering the movie. I would have watched the heck out of this multiple times as a kid.

Elements of heroism, trust and redemption marked this movie at a higher level than your usual kiddie cartoon.
Visually enjoyable.

Criminally underrated. Treasure Planet is easily as good as anything from Disney's renaissance line-up. It's hilarious, emotional, exciting, the characters are well-developed and entertaining.

I had never heard of this movie until a little while ago. It was alright, not a great one, but sweet.

An enchanting and worthy addition to the film remakes of RLS's classic tale.

I have seen the trailer for this many times, and have watched a few amvs with Jim on YouTube. I decided it was time to see this movie, so I watched it with my entire family. I am happy to say that I enjoyed it. Although no where near the Disney classics (Pinocchio, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.), it was a great movie that caught my interest. I loved Jim from the beginning. I can tell he's had a rough life, and longs for more than what his life is right now: the robo-police on his back, his boring life of work (*gasp*) at his mother's inn, and a father who left him as a boy and never returned (which was a possibility to be discussed throughout the movie and tie it together with Treasure Planet, but that's rather cliche and I'm glad they didn't do that. Besides, that's what fan fiction is for. ;D). He's very relateable, and I liked him a lot because he had guts and sarcasim and had that common teenage air about him, but you can tell that he loves his mom and longs for the adventures of discovering Treasure Planet. He has a good emotional complex too. Besides that, I love Captain Amelia. XD Anyway, watch this. It's likely you'll enjoy it.

Disney, a nastier than usual corporation, churns out and commissions endless over-hyped mediocre animation flicks.
I suspect they succeeded here more by accident than anything else.
At any rate, despite a thoroughly annoying teen hero [i kept hoping one of the pirates would succeed in killing him], this is a gem.

Dr. Doppler: [to thug guarding him and Captain Amelia] Is it that your body is too big for your teeny-tiny head, or is your head too teeny-tiny for your big fat body?
Thug: [stomping over and grabbing Doppler] Why I pummel you!
Doppler: Yes. And before you do that... [holds up gun] ...is this yours?
