This book jumped off the shelf at me and it’s not the type of space book I pick-up. With that said; it’s a fast pace, fun to read, and hard to put down history book of the private sector barons that are currently exploring the cosmos.
The engineer in me wanted find out how? This book is not about the Nuts and Bolts, but the process of building companies to explore space. The business person in me wanted to find out the costs? When you talk about the investment of time and money in a dream only the future will tell if the cost was worth it. The dreamer in me wanted to find the why? I too remember Neal Armstrong coming down the ladder on the Moon and old enough for that moment to change my life. I’ve tried to keep up with the current space race with the billionaires, but there is so much information to keep up with. This book is an excellent starting point. It’s going to be fun to watch from now on; this race to take us back to the Moon and on to Mars. I just wish I was young enough.
