Did not like this version at all, compated to the Peter Ustinov and David Suchet versions, this one was awful although they had great actors and a great director, Kenneth Branagh did not play Poirot very well, and the ending was blah.

2.5 stars for cast and design, but doesn't hold a candle to the 1974 version. Ludicrously fake mustache on Poirot, so many goofs we were all rolling our eyes half way in. Poorly executed finale and irrelevant plot points having nothing to do with the original story. Agatha Christie must be turning over in her grave over this pale reflection of her brilliant work.

Intriguing murder mystery, but with quite an unrealistic ending. Stunning performances by all the actors involved. Excellent filming, sets, and costumes. It dragged a bit at parts, but overall this film was well done.

The comic "Wailing Wall" bit and atmospheric snowy train ride, that reminded me of "Snowpiercer 2013", made the movie entertaining. However, being the film’s director and Hercule Poirot, Branagh perhaps focused overly on his own roles which overshadowed both the murder mystery and the rest of the A-list international cast. Result is ZERO Academy Awards nomination for this remake despite of superior production design, while the 1974 version received six Academy Awards nominations: Best Actor (Finney), Best Supporting Actress (Bergman who won), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, and Best Costume Design.

The remake was very entertaining but the 1974 version was better.

Very good cast and outstanding production values.

Still, I prefer the 70s version.

This movie is full of stunning visuals, incredible actors and intrigue. I was totally stumped by who the murderer was until it was finally revealed at the end and I loved the explanation behind it.

When I rented this film from Redbox, I noticed it didn't get very good reviews...and to save my life, I can't see why. I suppose it was a bit slow to start, but beautiful scenery with just a slight Merchant-Ivory flavor...and oh the casting! Spot on, although Dame Judi Dench was woefully underutilized as Princess Dragomiroff. Look for Willem Defoe and Johnny Depp also. A superb adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel.

A mediocre mystery that is saved by a really good ending. The sets, costumes and ambience are top notch throughout.

Never read the book, might consider reading it. LOVEDDD it! Didn't see the end coming especially the actual murder. fantastically done. Amazing cast, Michelle Pfeiffer is perfection. Love Hercules Poriot's mustache.. can we bring back those balln' stache's? #bringbackthestache Great movie... more of these movies too please!!!
