not too bad. Nice addition to have the real actors from the CW shows do the voices for their characters in this movie too. Almost felt like it could have been done after a half hour then kept going with the story, did a good job of taking it to the end and telling the story it wanted to

As an origin movie, this had plenty of potential. Unfortunately, the script/writing wasn’t up to the task. First off, I admit my knowledge of Vixen is confined to the “Justice League Unlimited” series. She was a B-grade hero who can summon animal-like powers from her jewel. Also, she was dating Green Lantern (John Stewart) at the time. Easy peasy. At this point, the writers had a blank slate, so they could’ve gone in any direction as they pleased. Wrong! They went the young adult route, which was fine since it is an origin movie. Here’s where it gets tricky, I can only assume, the writer’s immediately translated young adult in the DC Universe to the team “Young Justice”. Hence, Kid Flash and Speedy were dispensed to recruit her. What!? She was never a member of Young Justice! Whatever. The writers needed to put her somewhere, but at the same time, they couldn’t risk sparing any significant member(s) of the Justice League to recruit her because the story would no longer be solely focused on Vixen. *Writers...Fine, let’s hand her off to YJ instead of JL where she actually belongs. That makes sense.* This is lazy writing at its worst. At this point, I was both confused and irritated.

The rest of her story is fine, but the baddie was kind of weak. I mean his powers, not his story. It took four YJ members and Vixen to defeat him. (Granted, Vixen was still trying to master her powers.) Of course, Vixen had to give the deathblow, since it is her movie. Overall, disappointing. Find something else to watch.
