After an extravagant honeymoon, Hannah's eager to settle down in Lake Eden and turn domestic daydreams into reality. But when her mother's neighbor is discovered murdered in the condo downstairs, reality becomes a nightmarish investigation. Victoria Bascomb, once a renowned stage actress, was active in the theater community during her brief appearance in town . . . and made throngs of enemies along the way. Did a random intruder murder the woman as police claim, or was a deadlier scheme at play? As Hannah peels through countless suspects and some new troubles of her own, solving this crime - and living to tell about it - might prove trickier than mixing up the ultimate banana cream pie.

This series is no fluke! I have always enjoyed Joanne Fluke's mysteries in this series. However, this one book is a bit disconcerting because (don't want to give anything away, but) it is worse than a soap opera that ends right at the height of what you wanted to know... I truly can say I truly disliked the way this book ended because in essence it didn't ...it left the cliffhanger and me wondering what happened to XXX? If anyone knows which book is the sequel to this, so I can find out what happened to XXX, please let me know!!
I enjoyed all of the characters and the usual Swenson Sisters back and forth but I surely hope the author doesn't make it a habit of having a book with no closure and no ending! That is why I only gave it three stars.

I used to enjoy listening to these books on CD. However, the last few books have almost the whole story told on the back preview. It is one thing to say someone is murdered but then to list their names, which you'll find out in disc 5 what's the point.

I love cozy mysteries and having grown up in Minnesota, found myself drawn to Hannah, so I've been a faithful reader. When the series started losing steam 3 or 4 books ago, I showed my loyalty and kept on reading, but I just can't do it anymore. The even more than normal repetitive drivel in this book was more than I could take. I would not be surprised to find out that a junior high student had been hired to write it for the author. I'm sorry to say it, but I am so done...so very, very done!

I enjoy the Hannah Swenson mystery series, but I found this one a bit loose on the plot line. It's written in such a way that our main character seems almost dim-witted. Yes, there should be some guesswork involved, but show that the character picked up what it might mean! I hope the next in the series is a bit of a better read.
