It was a phenomenal movie and The Help potrays the way black servants were treated during the '50s very realistically.

This film exceeded my expectations. I had expected it to be any or all of overly treacly, artificially "heartwarming", or stunningly self-righteous, and it was none of those. A worthwhile story, a good script, and excellent performances.

Ultimately insulting to both races.

White bashing from Hollywood, I didn't care for this movie.

This was a good film about racism in Mississippi and it was very popular in Hollywood. I’m glad that this story is being told, but perhaps the popularity is because it is really the lite version of racism. Come on! This story took place in Mississippi, where blacks were afraid their next breath was going to be their last breath. This is the place where if you were black and you looked at a white person incorrectly, you could be dead meat in a minute. Hopefully, a lot of Michelle Bachmanns aren’t lulled into believing that racism in America was just a bunch of bad manners by a bunch of crazy white ladies. The sad thing about this movie is that if more of the truth had been told, it would not have been popular enough to have been seen by so many viewers. Note that so many people are talking about pie rather than the rampant racism in America, both in the past and in the present.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Putting feces in someone's food is an act of violence and potentially life-threatening, yet it's treated as funny. Could give pranksters, unaware of the dangers of e-coli bacteria, ideas.

Coarse Language: They say a lot of bad words! Like (s- d- h- p-) And a lot more
